To put thoughts into one's mind... all that was needed was a simple question. Words... To have words, one must hear words. It was a cycle really. A curious mind wandered at it now—along with a question asked by so many.

Would you lay down your life for your brother?

Blue eyes opened to stare at darkness. Yes. The answer was always yes. But not only that... At times, he himself feared what he would do for his brother. He was called to lay down his life for king and country, after all. His brother was king—but he was more. He was a little brother. He was a kind heart. He was innocent in all the ways that his older brother never was... and those things were to be protected at any cost.

So protect he did. He would die for Cade. But he would kill for him as well. He would take pain, or cause it, if it kept that pain from reaching his brother. He did what he did, not out of some misplaced sense of duty, but out of love. Not the false feeling so many called "love," but the love that would sacrifice itself for another, without repayment or thanks.

Love was patient, kind, not jealous, was not arrogant, did not act unbecomingly, did not seek its own, was not provoked, did not take into account a wrong suffered... Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. There was no fear in love.

If that was love, then yes, he loved his brother. Not only that, but he would defend him, at all costs.
