A/N: I don't know where this one came from, but enjoy!
Liane Cartman took a drag off of her cigarette and exhaled, blowing the smoke out the window. She stared out at the mountains, taking in it's radiant beauty that people often took for granted. She had spent her entire life in Colorado, but only now had she really taken the time to enjoy the sights.
Putting out her cigarette, she stood up and went over to the telephone. Slowly, she picked it up off its cradle as she judiciously dialed the familiar number. The ringing in her ear as she waited for him to pick up was almost unbearable, but somehow she made it.
"Hello?" It was Jack Tenorman. His voice was rusty with fatigue; he must have just gotten back from practice, Liane thought.
"Hello Jack, how are you?" She chose her words carefully.
There was a pause. "What do you want Liane?"
The sentence stung. "I just wanted to talk to you..."
He sighed heavily. "Look Liane. Nothing is going to happen between us, alright? I have a wife and son, and a full time career. You were simply a casualty. Now be a good girl and leave me alone. Please."
"But Jack, I'm-" She began softly.
"You're what? Crazy and obsessed? In love with me? I know these things already, but like I just said, nothing is going to happen. We had sex once for fuck sakes. Once! Now I'm hanging up the phone and you're going to never call me again, alright?"
"But Jack, I'm-I'm pregnant." There, I said it, she thought to herself, her heart skipping a beat.
There was a long pause. "W-what?"
"I'm pregnant." She couldn't help taking some satisfaction in telling him.
"And you're sure about this?" His voice shook as he spoke.
"Yes. I've been to the doctor and took three pregnancy tests. This is for sure," she told him, trying not to cry.
"You're not fucking around with me, are you Liane?" He asked with apprehension and hope.
"No Jack, I'm not."
There was another long pause with the occasional sigh. "Alright, what do you want to do?"
"I'm keeping it," She said at once. "I want this child." She lit up another cigarette as she spoke.
"How far along are you?"
"About ten weeks."
"I can't be involved in this Liane; I think you should do everyone a favor and just abort the baby."
"And why should I do that?" She challenged, suddenly growing angry. "For all we know, this baby could be the start of something great; he might even cure cancer. Did you consider that?"
"No, no I guess I didn't."
"Yeah. So, I'm keeping my baby. Just thought you should know."
And with one soft click, their conversation came to an end.
Was it any good? Should I continue? Let me know please =)
