Candyholic
Prologue
"Hey Mel? How long are you planning on staying out here? I'm getting cold." Matt took another long drag from his cigarette and, shivering slightly, looked over at the blond boy sitting next to him. The sun was setting over the Wammy's House and with the growing darkness came an uncomfortable chill.
"Quit whining. We'll go in a minute," was Mello's response. Up here, on the roof, he felt like he was on top of the world. Mello often came up here to think, and Matt, being his best (and only, really) friend at the orphanage for the gifted, nearly always followed. "And why the hell did you have to pick such a disgusting habit? You're going to give me lung cancer." Matt frowned at this remark, but said nothing.
The gamer pushed his orange-tinted goggles off of his eyes and arranged them so that they sat neatly on top of his dark hair. Slowly and cautiously, he moved to get up. Mello, not showing any signs of following, looked up at him, his sapphire eyes locking with Matt's bright green ones. This made the redhead freeze. He knew that look. And had he not known the other boy better, he may have been slightly frightened my the dangerous smirk on his face.
Mello was up to something.

AN: Well, there you have it. The prologue to my first ever fanfic. I'm honestly not sure how long this'll end up being. But I swear I'll try to make the following chapters a lot longer than this. Cause I really hate short chapters in stories.
