Wisdom

Short A/N: Sorry I haven't updated in forever. This is an old piece from season 2, which means that Iroh isn't in prison and becoming The Hulk just yet. It was an old idea and I just loved it too much to forget about it.

People tend to think that wisdom comes with clever words and deep thinking. They must have age-old anecdotes and lectures, myths that live on for generations.
But Iroh knows much better; he knows that wisdom like that is overrated. "People think too much," he says. "The truest form of wisdom isn't thinking—it's doing."
Hypocrisy, he'd also explain, is an integral part of that method of wisdom, because here he was, thinking about the way other people think about wisdom! But never mind that; his point has been made.
He stands from the table, then, joints creaking. He makes another pot of tea.
