A/N: A bit of a NaruSaku poetry here. I think I'll try to write something with Naruto and Sasuke next (most likely friendship, not romance).

Note: All of my poems are highly canon. So, if this isn't what you expected, sorry, but I have no inclination to write any pairing developments right now, other than what the manga shows.

Of course, Naruto didn't try to bring Sasuke back just to fulfill a promise. I know that. But it was his pride ("never go back on my word") that was in the equation, and that's how I've written him here.

Nothing's Wrong

We sit by Ichiraku's
Just like the old times
But different, with
One seat empty,
Where your gaze so lingers on.

We laugh and joke
Over our sensei's defeat,
It was
Our glorious victory
After our years of training.

I tell a story
Jokingly, about Ero-sennin's
Various (perverted) habits.
You laugh, something I
Haven't heard for a while,
I guess that's one thing that
Still stayed the same,
Sakura-chan.
I'm glad.

Almost three years we haven't seen each other,
And you didn't change much.
Taller, yes, more mature, yes,
But still the same old Sakura-chan I knew.
Intelligent and
Beautiful.

My promise to you
I didn't forget,
Neither did you, I think.
We talk about everything but him,
Avoiding the subject, I know.
You
Still love him, even after
All this time.
And I said
I would do anything
To make him come back.
Anything for you.

My ramen is cold,
And you lightly punch my shoulder.
"Don't be so serious," you tease,
"That's not like you."

Then I grinned,
Something that, you told me
Brightens up your day.
You smile too,
And everything
Is alright.
