Drabble – Fix
It always started out as a gnawing craving, a need that would not go away. It would escalate from there until the desire was taken care of. And that need was growing.
He was addicted and he knew it. Only one thing could quench his desires. The dependency had started long ago in Pella when they were younger and had never wavered.
He spotted Hephaestion talking in the hallway outside of his room to one of his pages. He was smiling and it made Alexander's heart skip a beat or two. Hephaestion looked at Alexander as he approached. He finished giving his page his instructions and dismissed him. He turned to greet Alexander but was gently wrapped up in strong arms and turned towards back into his room.
"Is there something wrong?" Hephaestion asked.
His question was answered with a kiss; one filled with want and need.
"Oh." Hephaestion whispered when his mouth was again his own.
Alexander took his time and relished every minute of his fixation. His desires where matched by the one he held in his arms. They danced together in their shared love for one another, both with their eyes and with their bodies.
Lying face-to-face, still touching after coming back down from their high, Alexander glided his hand gently on Hephaestion's back as he watched him. He looked at his eyes, as they remained closed with the long dark lashes lying on his rosy cheeks. He looked at the red swollen lips tempting him once more with renewed need. He brushed a stray strand of hair from his cheek. He felt the muscles of the strong back as he leaned in to capture the lips once more.
"I can't get enough of you today. I have never loved you as much as I do right now."
Hephaestion opened his eyes slowly and the look Hephaestion gave him made every nerve in Alexander's body react. Then Hephaestion smiled, that smile he saved only for the man in front of him, and Alexander's world, unlike the world he had conquered already, became only the space around him and Hephaestion.
"I love you, my Alexander."
Tears formed in Alexander's eyes as he stared back into those pools of blue wonder.
"And I cherish you." Alexander replied softly.
They continued to stay together savoring the moment, until the renewed desire to feed their addition once again swept them away.
