It was the middle of the night, heavy clouds filled the sky- blocking out the light of the starts and the pregnant moon. I was, on all accounts, almost impossible to see. Any artificial lights were highly dulled by the thick sheets of rain pouring from the sky.

However, as lightly used as they are, humans have two other long-range senses- hearing and instinct. It was no longer classically included as a sense- humans had almost lost that ability in their frantic searching for reason. But this was not the case in this community and not in this man in particular. He could feel the other person regardless of the dampening of all movement and sound.

And that's why he went over to the blonde, carefully, kneeling before him. He reached up, brushing soaked strands away from the boy's face. He caressed the boy's cheek lightly, before brushing his thumb against chapped lips. "Tenshi, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it, please come back inside. I don't want anything to happen to you." The taller man draped his heavy coat against the small-stature figure, speaking in hushed, comforting words.

A passer-by reflected on the kind, caring and sincere young man as he moved away. He had quite obviously missed the look of absolute terror in the blonde's eyes.

...No one ever bothered with the screams anyway.
