A cold winter breeze nipped at katara's nose and cheeks, as she trudged through an ice field in the south pole. "Aang! Aang!" she called, her voice slightly muffled be the howling wind.

That morning her fiance had disappeared. But not without grabbing some of the bread she had made the previous night, from the table. Around mid-day aang's messenger hawk had flown in throw the open widow.

The letter it had been carrying was crumbled in katara's right hand. This is what it said:

To my dear katara,

Latly sokka has been telling me some of the southern water tribe legends. Such as the Legendary Ice kingdom one. I am sorry to say he challenged me to find it. You are prouble worried out of your wits, but I assure you I will be fine. I will return home in a day or two.

However katara knew as a fact sokka had never been told the entire legend and he had left out some very important parts when he had told that legend to aang. Katara distinctively remember her mother telling her the story.
