chapter 1: apprentice

Dick Grayson, young acrobat and son of Mary and John Grayson, stood under a tent, looking at their graves. One day ago, they had fallen to their deaths, the saddest thing that had ever happened to that 12 year old kid. His life was ripped away from him, by one man.

Im gonna kill Zukko, just you wait.

Bruce Wayne, owner of Wayne industries, stood next to him, looking sad for him and his had been friends, until yesterday that is. His parents had suffered the same as Bruce's, about 20 years apart.

Were...the same...me and Dick...parents...murders...god help us all.

Rain began to pour harder, and soon, Dick was walking away from the graves. Misery on his face. How could life be so cruel to a circus kid? A small voice answered Dick thoughts as he planned what to do about Zukko.

Kill him Dick, kill him for your mother...

"Leave me alone." Dick whispered, looking at other peoples graves, taking his mind off of them.

Playing is learning, play the game, for your father...

"Enough, leave me alone!" He found himself was still at Mary and John's graves, but even he heard him shouting. This wasn't anything new to Bruce, he thought it was probably just the fact that he saw them die.

"Dick, time to go." Bruce said, knowing he could hear him. Dick sighed, Walked over to Bruce and Alfred. They got into their limo, and took off down to Wayne manor.

Dick sat in his new room, looking at the floors. He s=was sitting on his new bed, looking at his new stuff.

I don't want new, i want...family. And of course, a little voice answered his thoughts.

its time to let go dick, their gone, soon you will be too.

" Mom, Dad, I wanna go home!" He shouted, then clamped his mouth shut, hoping Bruce didn't hear him.

Bruce did, but knew that if he went in there, someone was gonna be upset.

OK so i made Bruce a bit of an asshole, but i couldn't think of anything for him, and i didn't want this to be too short so deal with it, chaoter 2 should be up in about a week or so
