Gillian sat at her desk, staring at the picture of Cal she had.
Ben stared at her, standing in the doorway. "I..." He started, but stopped himself when another tear fell down her face.
She sniffled and looked at Ben, "S-Sorry... what?"
"We are all sad." He reminded her.
"I never even really told him." She said, the tears coming back.
"He knew."
She stared at Ben for a minute and then stood up. She walked over and stared out of the window and watched as the world went on, she watched as everyone lived there life. She wished she could be down there - with Cal - getting something to eat, or sitting by the fountain and throwing in pennies. A stray tear ran down and into her mouth, she cringed at the salty taste and ran to Ben, burying her face in his chest. He put an arm around her back and slowly rocked back and forth, "Shhh..." He whispered, rubbing her back.
She gasped as she cried, tightly grasping Ben. "It... seems like... I have cried... all my... tears... but... they just... keep coming..." She whispered between tears.
"Yeah..." Ben said strongly. He lifted her and walked to the couch, sitting down and setting her in his lap. She took his jacket and hid her face.
She sniffled again and looked at him. "Did they catch him?"
"Who?" Ben asked, immediately regretting it. He didn't want her to have to talk about it.
"The man who... killed him..." Gillian said, starting a set of new tears.
"Yeah..." He whispered, kissing her head.
.:.
She cried for hours until her eyes were to dry to make anymore. She rested her head on Ben's sturdy chest and pulled out her phone. She dialed his number and intently listened. "Lightman. Leave a message." HIs voicemail said, causing her to find more tears.
"Who did you call?" Ben asked her.
"I just needed to hear his voice." She whispered.
