The Big Bad Wolf: An appropriation of Rose Tyler and the Doctor.
She has been following this path for awhile now. It leads her away from the safety of her home and her mother, but she barely thinks about it. She enjoys this path, full of adventure and fun. It is her life with him, the Doctor.
Her red cloak wraps tightly around her, keeping her safe and warm against the harsh wind and rain she experiences here. It is the Doctor. She remembers when she first found the cloak, lying on the road. It was torn and ragged and a dark shade of gray. But she had fixed it up and dyed it a bright rose red. She has woven herself into his every thread, his heart and his soul.
The basket she caries is the Tardis. Small when you look at it, yet it is filled with the most amazing things. She is yet to know everything that is inside it. She hopes soon she will.
She strays from the path to pick flowers; roses. She fills the basket with them, changing it and making it her own. The Tardis knows her, loves her. She has been marked by a Rose. The basket is a new place with the bright flowers overflowing. She has made it so.
On the way, one thing keeps popping up. It is a wolf. Blaidd Drwg. A bad wolf. It follows her, yet she doesn't know why. It keeps popping up, making sure she keeps on the path she has chosen. She would never dream of anything else.
She doesn't know that the wolf will be waiting for her at the end of this path, where she will show her worthiness. All she knows is she doesn't trust it and she's not sure why. The wolf runs on ahead. It will meet her there, when she arrives.
The house is eerily quiet. She doesn't like it, not at all. She takes her cloak off and leaves it by the front door. She doesn't like it without her cloak, she needs its protection. Still she enters the house; the exterior of the Tardis. Usually it feels like home. Not today. Today it is different.
She approaches the bed in the centre of the room, the centre pistol of the Tardis. It is the most important object and she often hangs around it. But it's different today. There is something off about her grandmother. She reaches down towards her but something springs forward. It is the wolf. It holds her tightly and devours her. She is the wolf, the wolf is her. There is nothing left about Rose Tyler, Little Red Riding Hood; it is buried deep in her belly. The wolf reigns and it is powerful.
She runs out of the house, she can do anything she likes. She is the most powerful being in the world, the universe. Garden pots from her grandmother's garden are crushed under her feat, powerless against her. They are the Daleks and she has destroyed them.
The door is burst down and in comes a huntsman. He is angry. The wolf shouldn't be winning; he wants Little Red Riding Hood back. He wants his Rose Tyler. The huntsman is the Doctor. He grabs the wolf. He is stronger than it. He can see the girl fighting in the belly, she is still alive. He can win.
He takes the girl out of the wolf, the wolf out of the girl and throws it away. He thinks it's gone forever, he has killed it, but maybe that isn't so. It may yet make another appearance.
He takes the girl into his arms; she has passed out from the struggle. Wrapping her red cloak tightly around her shoulders for the protection it gives, he opens the door to the warm house; to the Tardis, to their home, and together they enter, just resting before starting on another path anywhere in time and space.
The End.
