I walked around the islet where I spent my years of childhood. Ah, there was some really good memories here. Like the time when I pushed Riku into the ocean, and he swore his revenge on me. Hah, I could remember the look on his face. I smiled at the memory.
I looked at the tree where Kairi, Riku, and I sit to watch the sunset. A female with auburn red hair was standing by it, staring off into the was Kairi, the girl that I've been to Darkness and back for. If it wasn't for her, I don't think I would be here. I missed her a lot during my journey.
"Kairi," I spoke to her. She turned around with a smile on her face, but her eyes were slightly red. Why is that?
"Hi, Sora," she greeted.
"What's up?" I ask.
"Oh, nothing..." she faltered, sadness taking over her eyes.
"Something is up. When you say nothing, it means something." I say in concern.
"It's just that... It's the day that you..." she sniffed.
"I what?"
"You sent me back here," Kairi said sadly. She stares down at the ground, upset. I hug her petite figure, trying to comfort her, while controlling my emotions. I was so stupid! I left her here, and she gets kidnapped, when she was supposed to be safe. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
"I'm sorry Kairi. If I had known..." I whisper.
"It's not your fault, but it hurt me so much, that my heart nearly broke when I saw the drawing..."
She saw it? Darn it! I pulled away from her a little to see Kairi crying. I come close to her again, brushing her auburn locks out her tear-stained face. Her indigo eyes were red and puffy, but still pretty. I don't tell her to stop crying, because she needed to let it all out. She embraces me, tear flowing from her eyes.
As she sobs, Kairi only says one thing. "I need you Sora, as a friend, and more."
I tense up. Was that a confession? I've never thought of her like that before, but the idea of being with Kairi as a couple, already sounds nice. I do think she's beautiful, smart, brave, and well... she is everything to me.
"Kairi..." I say softly. She looks up at me. "I need you as a friend, and more."
She smiles at me. "I'm glad we agree." Kairi nuzzles her head into my neck, while I rubbed her back.
Later on, I saw the drawing again. But this time, it got added to. Her giving me a fruit, and I giving one back. I wrote underneath it.
Thank you, Kairi, Or else I wouldn't survive the journey. - Sora
