A/N: this is confusing… possibly the most confusing fic I've ever written. I hope you are actually reading these a/n's because I have info for you that will help you understand this fic a little more. Okay. Koro is nice in this fic, first of all. And all poor people are pets, and everyone has powers, and duel monsters doesn't exist, and Proto is a character I created with the help of my friend Dominick, and I'm rambling. Sorry. WARNING: THIS IS A SHONEN-AI FIC! Koro has long black hair, much like Mokuba's, and blue eyes that can scare you half to death if he simply glares at you. Okay, and also, pet shops include all types of 'animals', ranging from 'wolves' like Proto, to 'dogs' like Joey, to 'birds' like Javis, to 'lions' like Daku and Liko. Chapter 1
The Pet Shop
"Koro, this is pointless. I don't need a pet! KORO! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING!" Seto Kaiba said as they walked into the pet shop.
"Sir, no offense, but pets are great to have," the young store clerk said.
"SHUT UP!" Seto shouted, glaring at the young man, who was now cowering behind a shelf of supplies.
"Oh, shut it, Seto," Korokimai Mishari said, looking at a young man in a cage with long blue hair and piercing blue eyes.
"Kaiba!" a voice said from inside a cage behind Seto.
"Shut it, ya damned mutt," the owner of the store said, coming out from the back, pulling a young man with long silver and black hair and blue eyes by a chain.
"Who's that, and what is he?" Yugi said, indicating the silver and black haired young man.
"His name's Proto, and he's a wolf. Bit of a pain, just tried to escape," the owner said. "But a good master would straighten him out."
Meanwhile, Seto had turned around and was looking at the golden-haired young man in the cage.
"Wheeler?" he asked the young man.
"What?" he replied.
"Why are you here?" Seto said.
"I'm poor. Always have been. Real sob story, my life. But, it'd get better if I was out of here. Can you get me out?" Joey Wheeler asked him.
"IF you do everything I ask you to do," Seto said.
"Anything," Joey said.
"Alright. Hey! You! I want this one," Seto said, calling over the store clerk he'd snapped at earlier. The young man unlocked the cage and put a collar on Joey. He attached a leash and handed it to Seto.
"Hey, I want this bird. What's his name?" Koro said.
"Javis," the owner said, heading back into the back, having finally turned Proto over to Yugi after a long argument about how much trouble Proto was.
"I'll take him," Koro said.
"Another bird… ugh," the clerk said, walking to Javis' cage and opening it. At that precise moment, Javis turned into a blue jay, and flew out the door of the cage, and landed on Koro's shoulder. Koro, Seto, and Yugi all paid for their pets and left.
"Okay, guys, I've gotta get home. Daku and Liko are waiting, I'm sure. If they're not destroying the house," Koro said.
