Just a poem about my two favorite Dragonlance characters, the twins.I realize I write about these two way too much. Oo; But what can I say? I love them:D Anyway, just a tribute of the brotherly love/hate they have for each other. Also, the lines in bold are copyrighted sentences from the dragonlance books, the chanting to the five dragons in the portal if you remember. And the last line of the poem is copyrighted to the books also, a line by Crysania during the The Twins trilogy. Hey, I happen to remember a lot of specific stuff. Read if you shall, the poem is amateurish but I'll leave it this way for now.
------
From darkness to darkness/ my voice echoes in the emptiness
------
A song of days with the hymn of nights
And in the shared soul, the lies remain and truths fade
Living in the illusion of one whose eyes stream with love
As it is something brushed aside with bitterness and the twinge of jealousy
When the world ages in swiftness, he is left to find his place
'Do not rely on the strong arm,' the voice says, 'or you shall never rise.'
------
From this world to the next/ My voice cries with life
------
Even when he leaves with mirror-like eyes, the other shall always remain
The lies and truths intertwine, masking the warnings of the heart
As fragile as porcelain, it stands on the precipice
One touch shall make it break, one word and it will die
A bond of kinship torn apart, mind-shattering, grieving
It can only be described as a terrible hate that resonates from within
A revelation of souls shared are the dark intentions hiding among them
The voice keeps urging him forward, but he looks back and his other is still there
Fearful and touched, the smoldering black grows
Because the strong arm is no longer needed
------
From darkness to darkness/ Beneath my feet all is made firm
------
But a cry in the night brings the loving half, with his those eyes only showing care
The strong arm encircles, playful shadows on the wall
The terrible hate flies off on black wings
The steady pounding of shared blood lulls him to sleep
And a guileless smile watches over
But now the eyes stream with mingled horror and revulsion
A shout of betrayal as he in exchange gives a bleak smile
'Would you follow me?' he asks in a voice now his own
'Would you follow me into the darkness?'
------
Time that flows/ Hold in your course
------
And in the other's eyes, a sliver of love still remains
And it only proves his strength that the magic of the other could never meet
'Come home,' he says, 'come home'
It is tempting, that beautiful promise, but the night had already taken hold
The fragile porcelain broke and tiny shards remain on the floor
And there is a shift between where redemption is far past
------
Because by fate even the gods are cast down/ Weep ye all with me
------
But the heart always knows, it always holds dear the tender moments drifting in time's river
Shadow puppets on the wall, bonds of shared blood
All withstanding the dragon's fire, reborn into something new
The roads stretch on as each takes their own, only a few feet away
There is no certainty as they travel on,
Day leading into night and night giving way to day
And thus it can only be remembered as such
As they pick up the pieces, one delicate moment at a time
-----
What terrible hate, what terrible love!
