Breha lay on her deathbed, and called her only child to her bedside. She asked Leia to remain good and kind. She then died and was buried. A year went by and Breha's husband, Bail, married another woman, who had two daughters of her own. One was named Qi'ra, and she had big bushy eyebrows and a forehead big enough for spaceships to land on. The other was Bria, and she was a weak spice addict with missing teeth.

The stepsisters stole Leia's princess clothes and jewels and forced her to wear rags. They banished her into the kitchen to do the worst chores and made her sleep in the attic.

Despite all of this, Leia remained good and kind, and would always hope that she would see her circumstances improve.

One day, Bail was leaving on a work trip to Coruscant and asked his daughters what he might bring back for them. Qi'ra asked for a beautiful dress and a new eyebrow comb, while Bria asked for Clearasil.

Leia, on the other hand, merely asked Bail for the first twig that knocked his hat off on the way to his next senate meeting. Sure enough, Bail was walking to his transport one day, and a hazel twig drifted down from a tree. He saved the tiny branch and gave it to his daughter.

Leia planted the twig over her mother's grave, watered it with her tears and over the years, it grew into a glowing hazel tree. The girl would visit it three times a day, and a white bird would always come to comfort her.

Years later, on the night before a grand festival, Leia retreated to the graveyard to visit her mother. The white bird dropped a white gown and silk shoes. Leia went to the ball, with the warning that she must must leave before midnight. At the ball, the young woman met an adorable scoundrel who danced with her all night, but she eluded him before midnight struck but not before losing a slipper on a grand stairway.

The scoundrel had fallen in love with the mystery woman. Determined to find her, he proclaimed that he would marry the lady whose foot would fit the slipper left behind.

The next morning, the scoundrel and his faithful Wookiee went to Bail's house and tried the slipper on Qi'ra, the girl with bushy eyebrows. The sly girl had cut off her toes in order to fit the slipper but the scoundrel saw that blood dripped from her foot. Appalled by her treachery, he threw her in jail and tried the slipper on Bria, AKA Pizza Face. Bria cut off part of her heel in order to get her foot in the slipper, and again the man saw blood on the betrayer's foot.

The scoundrel inquired about another girl. Bail told him that they kept a kitchen-maid in the house - omitting to mention that she was his own daughter - and the scoundrel asked him to let her try on the slipper.

Leia appeared after washing herself, and when she put on the slipper, the scoundrel recognized her as the stranger with whom he had danced at the ball.

The two married and lived happily ever after.

Qi'ra was sentenced to prison where she spent her time grooming her man eyebrows. Bria was also sent to jail where she spent her time picking at her acne.
