At the Mall

Rachel decides that their leotards are out of date so she drags the Animorphs to the mall, will the boys survive? Read on to find out!

1. Jake

"If it makes you feel better to believe that, go right ahead"

Hi, my name's Jake, just Jake. Can't tell you my last name or where I live, it's too dangerous. See, my friends and I are fighting a parasitic species called the Yeerks. No they are not a disease, they are like one but they're actually slugs that go into your ear and control your brain.

Today we are not fighting the Yeerks, we are on the way to meet Rachel and Cassie at the mall. Why, you ask, are we, the only hope of mankind, in a mall? Because, in the words of Rachel, our outfits are out of date.

It all started in Cassie's barn, all of us including Tobias and Ax in human form lounged around while Cassie gave the animals around us their 'meds'.

Ax finished his cinnamon bun and was looking wistfully at Tobias's; Tobias rolled his eyes and gave Ax his bun.

"Thank-kuh-kuh you-oo-ou" Ax grinned and started on the bun.

Rachel looked like she had something on her mind, when I asked her about it she replied:

"Well, we've been fighting for like one and a half years already right?" the rest of us nodded our heads "So I'm just saying, our leotards are out of date, I mean c'mon, we've all almost outgrown those old things, I vote to get new ones." She was met by mostly blank faces from the males in the barn.

Cassie beamed "That probably isn't such a bad idea; some of ours are pretty tight." Marco looked at Rachel causing her and a certain bird-boy to glare at him.

Rachel grinned "Lets do it!"

"If it makes you feel better to believe that, go right ahead, you two are whipped!" Marco smirked.

Ax raised an eyebrow, something he had picked up, "I believe if you say that Tobias and Prince Jake are whipped, why are you coming?" he asked to my fellow sufferer's and my amusement.

Marco answered airily "Because I know poor Rachel would feel so sad if I didn't come, she digs me y'know?"

Ax was confused "But whenever she is with you, I see no digging apparatus with her."

Tobias smacked the upside of Marco's head "C'mon we're here." And with a sense of foreboding, we entered the mall.

Rachel was having a field day; she already dragged the boys and Cassie to three different shops, tried on five different leotards and got two each for Cassie and herself, the boys however…

Marco sighed "I think I've read all the magazines in this joint, one gets tired of looking at models in swimsuits after a while."

I laughed "never thought I'd see the day."

"Hey look guys, I'm gay" Tobias deadpanned pointing to a quiz in the magazine.

Ax looked up from his slushie "I am glad that you feel cheerful-ful-fhhuul."

With a glare, I warned Marco not to elaborate.

Rachel and Cassie walked up to us grinning, "We're done, like 'em?" Rachel smiled and Cassie blushed when they were rewarded with admiring stares.
Rachel smirked "Now it's your turn."

"I don't wanna, you can't make me!" Marco whined as he was pushed, no, shoved into a changing room.

I was in the same predicament "C'mon Cassie you don't want me to be scarred for life don't you?" I pleaded.

Cassie just smiled and pushed me in the stall next to Marco's.

Tobias and Ax just stared at the girls who turned to face them.

Tobias gulped.

Ax blinked.

And Marco and I found us with a 'stall buddy'
