One Life To Live
Harry grumbled as he blindly groped the objects atop his dresser as he searched for the off-button on his alarm clock, in order to end its insistent beeping. When at last he's succeeded in ending the onslaught on his ears, Harry opened his eyes and rubbed the sleep out of them. A quick glance at the clock's screen only confirmed his worries that he had indeed overslept once again.
'Ugh, I hope Maggie won't be too upset if I'm late to open up, again..,' Harry thought with a hint of worry. He knew that Maggie was usually pretty allowing of the occasional tardiness..But, he didn't want to invoke any sort of wrath the young manager could possibly have hidden up her sleeves. Harry couldn't run the risk of being fired, his job at Starbucks was his only source of income currently, and he'd rather not lose his apartment.
Grabbing a set of clothes, he padded over to the bathroom, which was situated adjacent from his tiny bedroom. Checking his reflection in the mirror and noting the time, Harry opted against taking a shower and hastily got dressed. Harry scowled at the mirror as he tried to pat down his unruly, raven hair with some water. Of course, his efforts were wasted on his incredible uncooperative hair..Yes, it was certainly one of those mornings for Harry.
He eventually gave up on his hair, exiting the bathroom as he checked the time again. "Shit," Harry mumbled to himself, he'd have to skip breakfast. His empty stomach grumbled in protest as he swept past the kitchen, and over to the front door where he immediately slipped into a pair of sneakers. Grabbing his keys, Harry rushed out the door, ignoring some of his more friendly neighbors who tried to strike up a conversation as he speed down the hallway. Noticing the unusual crowd gathered around the elevator, he chose to take the stairs instead.
The apartment complex's parking lot was semi-deserted, with the exception of Harry's gray Honda Civic, and a few other tenants' cars. Wasting no time, he raised his hand which held his keys, and unlocked his car. The click that signaled that the car was unlocked seemed to calm Harry down as he got inside, and buckled up. Harry sighed as he pulled out of the parking lot, he wasn't exactly looking forward to another dull day at the store.
