A/N: Hi, this is my first posted story! :) I wrote it a long time ago, but I'm quite fond of this one despite my younger self's overuse of fragments and commas. It's just a little drabble type thing, but I hope someone enjoys it.

Oh, and I wrote this to the song 'Anthem for the Lonely' by Lovers and Liars, so I'd recommend listening to that.

Disclaimer: I do not own anything except from the storyline! Everything you recognize is not mine (though I really wish I could have Hibari all to myself!)

Laying on the roof of his beloved Namimori Middle, Hibari Kyoya let a tear fall. It was the first he allowed, but he found that after it fell, the rest were out of his control. He stayed on the roof and watched the clouds with blurry eyes as he wondered what he was feeling. He saw that the clouds were alone without the rain, and more tears streamed down his face. Hibari Kyoya was a proud teen, so letting himself cry like an undignified herbivore was unheard of.

He hated to admit that this had affected him. He hated to admit that seeing Yamamoto happy and smiling made him hurt like he was. Hated to admit that he didn't know how much he loved Takeshi until he was gone. Most of all, he hated himself, because, looking over the railing of the roof a week after the breakup, he saw that Yamamoto's smile was dulled when they were together. Now, free from the restriction of the cloud, the rain was falling as it was meant to, Yamamoto was smiling like he used to and the world was right again. The heartbroken Prefect would never admit it, but he missed feeling the gentle touch of the taller teen's long fingers running through his hair, missed the whispered and unreturned 'I love you''s and he missed being happy.

But he has been the cloud all along. He knew from the beginning that he cloud and rain would always be separated, and he knew from the beginning that the cloud was meant to be alone.

On the roof, with tears trickling down his face and mixing with the first droplets of rain falling from the sky, Hibari Kyoya smiled a small, fond yet bittersweet smile because even with the heartbreak, he knew he didn't regret a single moment of his time with his rain.
