Madara and Hashirama sat silently one opposite the other, as the carriage trundled along the rocky dirt trail back from Uzu-no-kuni. Hashirama was smirking slightly and stealing furtive glances at Madara every few seconds or so. And on occasion, silently giggling. Tobirama had since learned to tolerate and ignore his elder brothers juvenile behaviour, Madara on the other hand was growing visibly more irritated with each passing second. His fingers flexing in and out of tightly balled fists, the features of his shadowed face marred by a scowl. Finally after a particularly loud and goofy giggle, Madara rounded on Hashirama, face alight with anger and exasperation. Eyes turning bloodred as tomoe swirled about his pupils,
"Idiot! What is so damn amusing?! Speak!"
Hashirama got himself under control before speaking, his words still punctuated by the occasional small giggle.
"I saw you smile at the alliance signing, not a smirk either. A real honest to kami smile!"
Madara's face went from fiery anger to blank apathy in a split second.
"No, i did not. You were obviously hallucinating."
"Nope i definitely didn't! you smiled!"
"I did no such thing."
"And i saw who you were looking at too! The clan heads-!"
Madara rose to his feet, his expression wrathful, and his hand resting dangerously on the handle of his katana. His cheeks had turned an interesting shade of red.
"Not. Another. Word."
Madara ground out, his voice carrying a promise of Hashirama's swift and painful demise. Hashirama raised his hands in a placating gesture, his expression sheepish.
"Alright, alright. Sorry."
Madara slowly withdrew his hand from his blade and sat back down, his expression still stormy. As he turned his attention to the rain pattering the window outside.
"Hn."
Tobirama watched the exchange with interest. And turned to hashirama, his eyebrows raised in silent inquiry. Hashirama gave the slightest of smirks before silently mouthing,
"When we get back."
Tobirama sat back in his seat and closed his eyes, he could wait for this undoubtedly delicious bit of gossip. After all, what on earth could make Madara of all people smile?
Just a little drabble i wrote after reading a lot of Madara fics, which in turn caused the plot bunnies to have their way with my poor beset brain. And this is the result, anyway i'll say it now and i'll say it again. REVIEW, REVIEW, REVIEW! I feed off of and gain inspiration from your criticism's and reviews. And it feels great to see what you think of my work.
