Author's note: This is my very first attempt at writing an Onechanbara fanfic. I picked up the game not that long ago for the Xbox 360 because I like the hack and slash games and having zombies in there is a definite plus.

"Synchronization"

Aya felt the rage gradually build within her as the blood splatters coated her flesh and blade. She wiped her sword clean and through the thick hoards of zombies and other undead creatures, she moved like lightning. In a flash, she was at one spot; instantaneously she was positioned elsewhere, armed with her treasured weapon. Blood and gore sprayed the streets and with each movement Aya made, a trail of massacre was painful visible. It was a matter of time before she felt her rage about to spill forth. If she continued on, she would awaken her frenzy that while making her incredibly powerful, would gradually drained her very life.

Now was not the time to test her will-power.

"Saki!"

The pig-tailed girl in the sailor-styled school uniform slipped into view like a ghost. She was quick to unleash her masterful and deadly skills upon the living dead, allowing Aya a few minutes to rest.

The half-sisters worked as a coordinated team, always watching out for each other. As they shared the same cursed blood line, they made sure to share equal battle time. Neither wanted to risk unleashing the powerful Blood Lust and go into a frenzy, especially if they did not have any pieces of the goddess statue to help cleanse them and cure them of their monstrous state.

It seemed illogical, then, to clad one's self in a bikini, cowboy hat and matching boots, and a feather boa when armies of flesh eating zombies were on the horizon. Yet it was Aya who insisted on such a particular outfit. She wanted to challenge herself: in order to dominate the Baneful Blood that coursed through her veins, she needed to assure herself that she could maintain self-control and conquer the rampant bloodlust. She wanted to stain her skin red, she wanted to feel the warm, tainted liquid trickle down the curves of her body, and she wanted to know that she could hold back the power of carnage she was capable of setting free.

Aya wished to conquer her battles, to use her own strength without having to rely on the boiling frenzy. Not just for her sake, but the sake of her cherished Saki as well.

"Onee-chan!"

Saki's signal tore Aya away from her thoughts and pulled her back onto the battlefield.
