This story goes on the basis that the Dementors will only follow the leading authority and with Voldemort's Death that is the Wizengamot. They will not act without orders.
We the Wizengamot find you guilty for ending the line of Slytherin while not being in a declared blood feud. We sentence you to the dementor's kiss to be performed immediately. Do you have any last words before your sentence is carried out.
"Yes I do, Are you sure this is the action you as members of the government I have saved from being totally decimated want to take?"
Wizengamot spokesman "Bring in the Dementor" He is all yours.
The Dementor slowly enters the room but instead of approaching Harry approaches the first member of the Wizengamot and gives him the kiss. This continues for 10 people before the shock has worn off and Harry Is asked what he has done to control the dementors
Harry's response, " Me nothing this is your own doing you have sentenced to death someone who holds your lifes in debt to his own actions. As such before he can be killed by your actions his actions must be first paid back. As I am to receive the kiss then you must first receive the kiss. This is just simple math I hold your lives and until I have lost them I can't lose my own.
While Harry was talking the last of the Wizengamot was kissed. With the last kiss performed the Dementor stopped and waited after all its orders were no longer valid with the last member to pass sentence dead.
I'm going to end the story there. You can imagine the next "elected" wizengamot trying to enforce the last ruling and meeting the same fate. Or Harry Could take over due to being a lord himself and make the world a better place. Or the new rulers might be smart and decide not to attempt his death. No matter what it will probably be better then I can come up with
