A/N: Smurf-chan is a horrible, horrible liar! She promised Naru/Kure, but delivered Kaka/Saku instead. She claims she was accosted by a plot bunny disguised as an innocent request from a dear friend.

Vicariously

Hatake Kakashi could, more often than not, be seen with a little orange book in hand. Unless, of course, that is, the situation demanded all of his attention, which happened frequently in his line of work but not so often that he ever left home without a volume of his favorite series. Those who saw it supposed it was a sort of security blanket. Most shinobi had them; Genma had his senbon, Neji had his hair, and Kakashi had his little orange books.

After Kakashi became the instructor of a Gennin team, he could still be seen with a little orange book, either open in his hands, or stuffed safely away in one of his pockets. You could say it was a vice. All shinobi had them; Asuma had cigarettes, Chouji had chips, and Kakashi had his little orange books.

At some point during his time with team seven, Kakashi acquired a new favorite volume of the orange bound erotica series. He carried it everywhere he went, reading it several times over. He still read the other volumes, of course, but his favorite was special. It was about a young girl with hair the colour of cherry blossom ice-cream, green eyes, and amazing strength, who, through a series of misadventures and rejections wound up loving her much older, silver haired, perpetually late sensei.

Kakashi knew that he was living vicariously, but some ninja did. Iruka had his students, and Kakashi had his little orange books. After all, living through his collection of soft-core pornography was all the famed copy-nin could do... at least for a few more years, that is.

Okay, I know, I lied! I said I'd have the the Naruto/Kurenai goodness up next. But I was attacked by a plot bunny in the form of a request that simply stated KakaSaku. There were no other guidelines, and I just couldn't resist.

There will be more Naru/Hana to come in future due to popular demand.

Hugs and Oreos!
