Now when Michael looks back on it, he can't remember exactly how he and Fiona went from being just correspondents to lovers. His job involved the IRA, on of the more intimidating organizations, resorting to violence to solve some of their problems. Fiona was an insider, and she was the only one who caught his eye. There was something about her long brown hair and piercing brown eyes that got to him. She had that spunk and feistiness that the Irish had such a definite claim on, and it intrigued him.
But then the plans were shot to hell, and he had to escape Dublin before the IRA paid him a special visit. He had to get out of the country. Quick. His only regret about leaving in such a rush was that he never got to say goodbye to her. And years later it haunted him like a plague. The one he never forgot.
Now, he has had a burn notice thrust upon him, and is living in the sunny city of Miami. And there she is, with him once again, their normal banter returning, he isn't quite sure what to think of her anymore. Here is a woman that he had fallen in love with years ago, and is now reunited with in a bizarre coincidence. What was he supposed to think?
His life had always been screwed up, and he realizes that now. Of course, his lousy childhood had always been apparent in his life. Why else would he become a spy? His father treated his family like some piece of equipment that never seemed to work to him. And when Michael left, at the ripe age of 17 to join the army and try to find a higher calling, he didn't regret it one bit.
Michael sat on his bed and watches in a silent amusement at the scene before him. Sam was asleep in a chair by the fridge, a beer in his hand and a yogurt in the other. Fiona was sitting at the bar chucking popcorn pieces at his body. He begins to remember why he had fallen in love with her now. She was funny, smart, feisty, and was able to match his skills with equal or even more expertise. He got up and sat down at the bar next to her. Fiona looked up and smiled.
" Fifty points if yeh get it in 'is mouth." she said, pushing the bowl of popcorn between them. " I'll give you five bucks."
" You're on."
A/N Cheesy, I know, but I'm bored.
