AN: This is my first posted fic. What a subject to begin with! By the way, SPOILER ALERT!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE LAST HARRY POTTER, DON'T FLAME ME! I warned you! Anyway, enjoy. This is my tribute to my favorite twins. I cried so much when I read the end of the book. I read the entire book in like five hours. Then cried because it was over. TT

Disclaimer: Jester does not own Harry Potter. That is the property of the wonderful J. K. Rowling.

Laughing Through the Tears

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Why is everyone crying?

Mum is sobbing into my chest, and everyone else is all around me.

Such sad looks on their faces.

And there you are, crying with them.

Come on.

Smile.

I'm smiling, see? My last laugh on my face.

I always liked it better when everyone smiled.

Jokes make everything better.

Laugh.

Like we used to when we ran away from Filtch, clutching the map, trying to find a hiding place.

When we played a prank on Percy, or dyed Ron's hair maroon.

Look at me with that grin you wore whenever Gryffindor won a Quiddich game.

The entire team running and hugging on the field, Harry laughing, Angelina and Alicia kissing Oliver. Oliver smiling through tears.

Just stop crying.

I'll tell you a joke or a story, like I used to when we were kids, and you were too afraid to go to sleep.

"Once upon a time there were two brothers..."

"Twins?" you'd ask.

"Of course," I'd laugh, and make up adventures for the two of us.

Remember when we first created the Snackboxes?

And used them to get back at that stupid toady Umbridge.

When we set off all our fireworks and flew away to start our new life?

Remember how we helped the Order?

I was so worried when you got hurt by Snape, but you joked, and laughed, and I knew everything was going to be all right.

I wish I could make you feel better.

Lift the sorrow from everyone.

But I can't do that anymore.

You'll have to be strong.

Pretend you don't notice mum's pain when she calls you the wrong name.

But comfort her anyway.

Keep the shop running even though you don't want to.

Keep living.

And one day, when you're old and gray, and have lived a long fulfilling life, we'll meet again.

To tell jokes and play pranks on everyone in Paradise.

'Till then, goodbye George.

Smile.

Laugh.

Just stop crying.
