My life has always been a pretty uneventful one. From the day I was born up until my 7th birthday nothing much happened, I was a normal boy who went to a normal school and learnt about normal things, I was not a bender, nor a leader, nor anyone of any importance what so ever, to put it simply I was me.
Though it must be stated that all that changed on the day of my 7th birthday. My father who was fed up with my non-chaloent way of living decided to ask me what I wanted to do when I grew up. I had no idea, I had never thought about it before and so simply replied by saying
"I don't know, what do you dad?" and that was the day I learnt that I was the third generation of cabbage farmers.
From that day on I was to help my father out with the farming. There was two thing this experience taught me.
My father is a very important man and without him the farm would surely die
I can't stand farming
I discovered a hatred of farming. The lack of enjoyment killed it for me, of course I could never tell my father that, it would break his heart if he knew that his eldest son didn't want to look after a farm so rich with our heritage. 3 years later when I was 10, my father took me and my brotherto the markets with him to sell our cabbage, and as much as I hated farming, I loved the markets. I feel instantly in love. From that day on I knew that I was born to be a cabbage merchant.
Luckily for me my younger brother was quite the farmer, a deal was struck, my brother was to grow the cabbages on the family farm, and I was to become a cabbage merchant. All was peaceful after that. I lived a calm life in the earth kingdom, but that all changed the day I met the Avatar
