A Beating Heart Yearns (DimitrixRose)
Haven't read Blood Promise and Spirit Bound . . . yet. That's the keyword in that. Dimitri and Rose belong to Richelle Mead. Enjoy!
"Rose are you leaving for training?" Lissa asked her friend with a little gleam of hope in her eyes.
"Yes." Rose replied as she turned her gaze onto her close friend. Grabbing her coat, she tossed it on and walked away from her blond friend.
As she walked, Christian popped out of nowhere, only to disappear behind her as he made his way to Lissa.
A small sigh escaped her as she continued to the training field for laps from her teacher and fellow guardian, Dimitri Belikov who her heart yearned for also. As she progressed on, she saw his silhouette grow closer until she could make out the faint outline of the Russian man.
"Roza, good morning." He greeted her as he continued to stare into the western book he grabbed from his shelf that evening.
"Morning." She also greeted, forcing a smile on her lips. Then she turned a slight glare onto her mentor, "what are we doing today?"
"You're doing a two mile run then we'll hit the bags today." He announced as a small smirk played on his lips.
"Why laps? I should build strength in my arms, not my legs." Rose whined, being her normal stubborn self again.
"Building strength in your legs will help you when it comes to running from a strigoi when it comes to it. Would you rather focus on your arm strength and lose a race with a strigoi chasing after you? Focus on both of them." He lectured as he turned his watchful, cold gaze onto the teen, someone he shouldn't love.
"I hate it when your right." Rose muttered as she shed her coat then started shivering. "I hate Montana weather!"
After she broke the silence, she heard a man's laughter echo through the opaque, hush night. Confusion rushed to her face as she stared at the man.
"Are you Dimitri? What have you done with him?" Rose asked as she stared at the man as she inched away.
As he continued laughing, he put his book away, his mind focused on one idea.
"Dimitri have you lost it?" Rose asked with a bit of concern laced in her voice.
"Fine, fine. Now I'll gonna pretend to be a strigoi. Run like a bat out of hell." He said as he smirked, a little chuckle following, "Run Roza."
Catching what he meant, she turned on her heel and hightailed it with the intent of keeping him away.
"Not fast enough." He whispered as he caught up to her.
She cursed at herself, pushing herself to the limit where her legs screamed at her to stop. She ignored that little voice in her head as she pushed herself to her limits.
Taking a step, she gasped as temporary pain flared through her ankle as it gave out. Falling to the cold, silvery ground, cold rushed to her face.
"Roza, are you okay?" Dimitri asked as he squatted down next to the young guardian.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She answered, picking herself up only to hear her mentor laugh again. "Now what?"
"Your nose. Your Rudolph the white nose reindeer." He announced before choking on a cough as frozen water hit him in the face. "What was that for?"
"To shut you up." She replied with a little smile on her lips.
"Fine then." He growled, tackling her with a roll.
She squeaked as she noticed his body heat through the duster he wore. Grabbing snow, she shoved it into his face.
"Evil." He muttered as he glared at nothing.
She smile in accomplishment as she sat on his stomach.
Leaning up, he grabbed her face, kissing her before a laugh rumbled through his chest. Grabbing snow, he rubbed it into her face. "Pay back's a bitch."
Please review. I love them. I'll take care of them, I promise. I'll be nurse joy to them. :3
