Summary: (Literati drabble) Set mid-season three. Rory thinks about Jess's eyes.
Notes: I wrote this about a month or so ago and proceeded to forget all about it. I remembered it again tonight, though, and decided to post. Enjoy!

Coffee and Chocolate
Most of the time, Jess's eyes are like coffee.
They're bitter, dark. And altogether addicting. They're like a kaleidescope, a vortex that sucks you in; you can't stop looking whether you want to or not.
And sometimes, his eyes are like chocolate. Now and again, for no apparent reason at all, they'll shift to this lighter, warmer shade of brown.
Those are the times I like best.
When they're like that, the bitterness disappears. They're soft, sweet. And still just as addicting.
They make it impossible for me not to love him.
I could get lost in those eyes for hours at a time and not even notice. That's how amazing they are. I look into his eyes and I see the wonderful, although somewhat cynical, guy who loves me.
That's why I love them so much, love him so much. I've always believed that a guy's eyes are just as, if not more, imporant than anything else about him, and Jess's eyes are perfect.
Not to mention, coffee and chocolate? A girl can never go wrong there.
