Silent words filled her ears as she saw the massacre that lay around her.
Pain rushed through her as she lifted her once bright green eyes to meet his unforgiving golden ones. Even she couldn't understand how it came to be like this.
The unspoken question fell from her trembling lips as she struggled to reach him.
Did you hate us so much?
His deafening silence answered her question with more than thousand words.
Her shaking and battered hand reached closer to him. She cried for him who forgot.
Their tears, their struggles, their laughter and their triumphs.
She stumbled over the fallen body of their comrade, stifling her overwhelming sob as she saw the silence that took its toll on even the man who would surpass god.
We cared about you.
Her labored breaths came heavily, as air came into her lungs like bricks falling. But she still moved forward, trying so hard to finally reach his cold and still stance.
The blood dripped down, trailing a long brilliantly red ribbon that connected to them like an everlasting bond. Like their bond between kindred souls.
We still care.
His distanced and justice-filled eyes glazed upon her with passiveness. Her hand was so close to reaching him now. Her wavering sight was failing her as she tried to grab and hold him. The only thing moving her now was that determination. To save him.
At last her hand reached him as she held onto him like he was the only thing left in her world that remained while all else failed to. Her broken sobs filled the silence air, bringing sound back from silence. Her tears and choking cries brought back emotions from indifference. Her hands on both sides of his face brought back old habits from lost friendship.
Even after we're all gone.
Her victorious eyes stared back at his withdrawn ones until the gold melted from their icy oblivion. She laughed as blood dripped down her pale lips. He finally remembered. Her frozen red hands trembled as she lost feeling of them. She smiled softly at him, knowing it was her time. Her determination to live faded as her knees gave out on her. Her hopeful jade eyes dimmed as the life poured out her as blood. She had saved him.
So she fell, leaving bloody marks staining his face, with a proud smile painted on her face.
We will still care for you,Kid.
