A/N: takes place a year after Zootopia
"Miss Hopps!"
Judy shakes her head, snapping out of her trance, "oh yes sir?!"
"Officer Hopps...you don't look very focused.." Chief Bogo raises his small, round glasses onto his forehead while holding onto his clipboard.
"No no sir, I'm alright." she nervously as she turns her head, shivering as if she was cold.
Bogo makes a hmph and continues reading his notes to the bunny about the lastest case.
Judy's teeth begins to chatter, this normally doesn't happen at work. Her headaches felt like terrible migraines. She felt sick for some reason, not the 'I got the flu' type of sick, but something else...
Her left ear twitches unnaturally, this was definately unusual. This kind of thing almost never happens and if it did it'd go away on its own.
"There's been robberies going on all over Zootopia and I want you and your partner, Wilde, to go on a stakeout-"
The police bunny's heart begins to thump, almost like she ran a mile. The rabbit puts her paw on her chest, feeling the pounding of her heart beating like a drum. Her breathing slowed down, she couldn't even hear the chief speaking anymore.
"Officer Hopps? Are you alright?" Bogo inquiries, even though she couldn't hear him.
"I-i need to use the b-batheroom..sir..." Judy stands up from her seat in the chief's office and runs out without her or Bogo saying another word.
Without hesitation, Judy rushes over to the girls' bathroom, knowing that she'll be safe there.
I'm going to die... She thought to herself. It was a natural reaction to being close to death, thinking about not wanting to die. But bunnies...they tend to hyperventilate when they think they're close to dying.
Judy's throat felt like it was swelling, scaring her even more. Oh my god oh my god...oh my...
"Hopps!" oh god, Nick... Judy's eyes widen, as if they were going to pop from their sockets. "Hey...you look a little...tense...you alright, bunny?"
"I-i gotta go Nick..!" Judy shoves Nick and runs down the hallway. "No running, DAMNIT!" one officer yells.
Jeez, what's up with Judy? Nick stands up and brushes himself off. She'd never do that. Nick was right, normally Hopps would tease him back or scoffs at him, trying to act calm. Strange how she pushed him hard enough for him to fall on the floor.
Something's wrong.
But what was wrong with Judy? Today, she looked more stressed. Maybe she's emotional right now? After all, most bunnies are pretty emotional and its hard to control their feelings.
I should go find her... And with that, Nick follows Judy's trail.
When she got to the girl's bathroom, she kicks the door open with her foot and quickly runs in, the door closing behind her. The restroom was pretty small, with only two stalls and one sink.
The bunny cop leans over the sink, breathing in and out. Calm down Judy...you're just overreacting and everything is fine...
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK "Carrots? Are you in there?" she could hear her partner's voice, Nick.
Breathe in. Breathe out. She gave no response to the fox and continues trying to relax.
"Judy?! I'm coming in!" the door slams open, as Nick runs in. "Hopps? What's going on?!"
"I-i c-can't breathe..." she manages to let out as she exhales, tears swelling up in her eyes.
Without hesitation, Nick hugs her. Judy was slowly calming down, her ears going down as Nick pats her back, "It's alright, Judy..." he says in a soothing voice. Foxes weren't the greatest at comfort, but Nick learnt from Judy on how to do so. "You're safe..."
For a minute, they just hugged. It looked strange, but right now, that was the least of their problems.
