Let's pretend that we weren't cursed. Pretend that you weren't the stupid cat and I wasn't the damn rat. Pretend that our families were happy and in peace. Pretend that we had a normal life. Pretend that we were close neighbors and we both grew up together.

Pretend that I didn't hate you and you didn't hate me. Pretend that your feelings for someone else were actual feelings for me. Pretend that sometime during our lives I tell you that I love you. Pretend that you told me you felt the same way. Pretend that we dated secretly, afraid that our families would shut us out if they found out. Pretend that our families loved us instead and agreed upon our relationship.
Let's pretend…that our story would be in an happily ever after.
