My name is Madra.

When I was little I loved my name. I thought it was the most beautiful name in the world. Then I hit puberty and for a brief time I was embarrassed by the uniqueness of it. It sounded just like the kind of silly nonsense name that a young teenaged mother would think sounded pretty. I cursed my unknown mother for giving it to me but eventually I outgrew my dislike for the name just as I had outgrown my love for it. It was my name, nothing more, nothing less.

Until the day I read Eva J—'s book.

Eva J—was famous for being the mother of the Animorph Marco and notorious for having been the host body for Visser One during the peak of the Yeerk Invasion. She had titled her book "Visser" and written it from Edriss 562's point of view.

I was reading the book, fascinated by the in depth look into the visser's twisted mind when I noticed my name. I was surprised to find that I shared a name with a Yeerk moon but I didn't really spend a lot of time thinking about it. I just kept reading. I finished the book. Despite its cliff hanger I knew what happened next. I'd read all about Marco's battle to save his mother and her decision to allow herself to be re-infested. Suddenly my thoughts were drawn to a detail I hadn't paid any attention to before. The visser had put the twins up for adoption. I was adopted. Just how many adopted girls could there be who shared a name with a Yeerk moon?

For a moment my body was frozen but eventually I managed to make my way to the kitchen where my mother was preparing dinner.

"Mom" I asked "What year did the Yeerk Invasion begin?"

She gave me the answer. I did some quick calculations in my head. Edriss and Essram would have been on Earth together the year I was born. Mom looked up from her cooking to see my shocked pale face.

"Why?" she asked "Madra what's wrong?"

I opened the book I was still carrying to the relevant page. I found it with surprising ease and showed it to my mother. My adopted mother. One second she looked annoyed that I was making her read rather than just telling her the problem and the next second she look terrified.

"I think we should call your father."

In between the time I showed her Eva's book and the time it took to explain everything to Dad, Mom had convinced herself that it was just a coincidence. Dad seemed to be leaning towards that explanation as well. They both urged me just to forget about it.

I was tempted to take their advice. Just let the whole thing go. Pretend like it was nothing more than a coincidence. But I couldn't. I wanted to know the truth. I looked up at my parents.

"I want to meet Eva J-."

I was planning for this to be a oneshot when I started writing it but now I'm pretty sure there's more to come. (This chapter may be edited later when I sort out the time line) Happy reading and as always please review! Even if you didn't like the story. Especially if you didn't like it.
