The screech of brakes and shrill honking of horns.

Burning pain.

Then nothing, a blissful darkness.

That day was the destruction of the miracles; it was a tragedy they all said.

But for them, it was a second chance.

Slowly, baby blue eyes blinked open. And blinked again. Fuzzy blobs sharpened into an anxious face hovering overhead. A warm, motherly face smiled down at him.

"How are you feeling? I found you passed out outside. Most people are awake when they enter Rukongai."

Rukongai? The unfamiliar name confused him.

His bewilderment must have showed, because she took one look at him and chuckled. "Rukongai. It's where souls go after they die. Welcome to the wonderful 54th district of Western Rukongai."

He blinked again. I'm dead… He tried to think back to his past life when he felt a sudden sharp pain in his head. He clutched at his snowy blue locks as black flashed across his vision. Then, it cleared and two words came to him amid the blankness. "Kuroko Tetsuya," he whispered.

"What did you say?" She looked at him in puzzlement.

"Kuroko Tetsuya… That's my name."

(AN) Hi I'm Akari-as I call myself on here- and this is my first fanfic so I hope that you'll review if you want to see more. :)

I guess this "chapter" is more of a preview of sorts than a real chapter but oh wells.
