A short ficlet. Enjoy.Does the Earth Move?
Loneliness. Loneliness was consuming him. It was everywhere, every time he moved a muscle. But that's how it would be. That's how everything will turn out when you're hated, disowned and betrayed. He brought a gloved hand over the silver blade. You're my only company. He thought. Hyperion.
Seifer slowly placed Hyperion beside him and stroked his hair in a singular motion. He was at a fishing port in Balamb Town, seeking shelter and peace. It had been two weeks since Squall and the other SeeD's defeated Ultimecia. That left Seifer alone. What a fool he was. He though Ultimecia could make his dreams of becoming a sorceress' knight come true. But he soon found out that he was living in his dream. Ultimecia was just using him as a puppet. To throw around as she pleased.
Squall was another though that came to mind. Seifer though of him as a rival. Of course, Squall would be the one to defeat Ultimecia, the puberty boy of a commander. Everyone seemed to like him. Especially Rinoa. After all, she was the one who opened him up. Figures, the angel and her knight.
Seifer sighed as he stood up with Hyperion in hand. He scanned the clear skies and wondered how people would react if he went back to Garden. Would they welcome him? Of course not. He was labeled the traitor, the back-stabber, the sorceress' lap dog.
Chickenwuss would never give it a second thought. Neither would the cowboy or messenger girl. And certainly not Rinoa or Squall. What about Quistis? His dear instructor. She wouldn't give him the warmest of welcomes. After all, he put her through hell.
Seifer sighed again. No one would welcome him. That's just it, I have no one. It seems like yesterday that he had the posse. Time had gone by so fast though, they were gone.
But for Seifer, the truth was that time was going by so slow. It was like the Earth didn't move. Two weeks had only passed by, but it felt like two years. Loneliness makes it worse. Seifer gazed at the clouds. It didn't seem to be moving. So, does the Earth move?
