If this is goodbye then I want you to know that I die with no regrets. If this is our final battle then I wish for you to know how proud I am to be standing beside you and how even though I know that I shall die soon that it was all worth it.
You may not be leading us to the future but the future will come because of us. We did the right thing and there is no reason to doubt for even a second that that is the truth. I die now here for France, for the future, for the people and for you my friend; my brother.
