It was a dark night in the manor, and Sebastian was walking around, checking on Ciel and the staff to make sure they were alright. He smiled softly, Ciel fast asleep and hugging a pillow tight in his chambers, Finny asleep in Pluto's chest, and Mey-Rin unintentionally snuggled close to Bard. Silently, he blew out the flame of his candle, and walked towards the front of the manor.

Being the demon he was, he had no use of sleep, so he spent the nights in the library in the main hall. As he approached the doors, he noticed a faint glow from the other side, and an unusual smell. Tensing yet maintaining his cool, he gently pushed the door's open with a smile.

"Good evening, and welcome to the-" His eyes opened, nothing it was nothing more than a larger than normal raven perched on the chair he normally relaxed in. Sebastian's eyebrows furrowed, knowing there was something off, but decided to continue his sentence. "Welcome to the Phantomhive manor. I'm Sebastian Michaelis, at your service." He bowed, still bewildered. "I'm afraid I may have to ask you to leave, everyone is fast asleep."

The raven let loose a sound of laughter; a haunting, melodic sound that chilled him to his very core. The raven began to change into a young woman with her legs crossed over the arms of the armchair, her hair the length of her body and covering everything. She pushed a finger to her lips and shushed him as he opened his mouth, rising to her feet.

"Sebastian Michaelis, you say~?" She cooed, fingers now tracing his chest. The butler gently pulled her hand off of him with a sigh.

"Young lady, I ask that you refrain from touching me, and leave the premises immediately." He warned sternly. He was used to routine, and didn't like the fact she disturbed it.

She skipped away from him and twirled; her hair shortening to her shoulders and clothes appearing over her. He found his hand in a pocket, ready to fight, as she glanced back at him.

"Tell me, butler; what do you know of the Pumpkin King?" Her voice was enchanting, melodic, yet...evil. Sebastian sighed.

"I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about." Sebastian approached the lady, and she held out her right hand; an emerald pumpkin ring on her index finger.

"The Pumpkin King is my master. And you are to die, Michaelis."

She began to laugh; her body taking back to raven form and he leapt backwards as feathers flew towards him. Covering his face from the feathers, he began to formulate a plan to fight her off, when he noticed the feathers were cutting through his clothes and skin. He quickly leapt atop a bookshelf, a dark scowl across his pale features.

"I still don't know who you, or your master, are. You are an intruder, and as my young master's butler, I ask you leave immediately!" He pulled out his silverware weapons and tossed them at her as her figure vanished into thin air, the laughter echoing through the halls.

He leapt down, concern on his face, and darted out of the library to make sure she left. As he ran through the halls, he began to notice his strength was fading, and his movements slowing. He made it to his master's chambers as he realized what had happened, and fell to his knees.

His body was becoming human, and a poison was spreading through his blood like fire.

He gasped, trying not to awaken his master, and found it impossible; Ciel already sitting up in a panic. Sebastian coughed, blood coming from his mouth; a blackening puddle on the ground. Ciel let out this loud screech as his butler fell on his face, light fading.

"I'm Lady Death, Sebastian, and you've escaped me long enough~" came the echoing melody through his mind.

Sebastian's eyes closed, and his body began to deteriorate before Ciel, who continued to scream until Sebastian was no more.
