I found this list of 50 word promt list in The Carrot's fic Five Times Ten. With nothing better to do while waiting for a hurricane to pass I decided to try my hand at some drabbles. I will add as I am inspired.
Disclaimer: I don't own Flashpoint, though if I could I'd want to have David Paetkau.+
Ring
She looked down at the object on her hand. A symbol of a promise made years ago. To love, honor, cherish. Til death. Such a small object to carry such a heavy burden. Twenty years later, though it still made her heart skip a beat as it did the day the man she loved put it there. Being the wife of a cop, especially an SRU cop was not easy. Recently they'd almost lost their way. But they'd found their way back to each other and also had a new addition to their family. She'd never take any of it for granted again.
Hero
As they slowly danced around the room they forgot everyone around them. Listening to the words of the unfamiliar Enrique Iglesias song she looked into the eyes of the man in her arms. "You know, when you told me the guys were going to to pick out song, I was nervous. I couldn't believe you'd risk that on a bet. But now I can for certain that I'm glad you lost that bet." Smirking down at his wife, of only a couple of hours, he replied " You're just going to have to have better faith in your husband now Jules."
Memory
Team One's shift was finally over. As Spike grabbed his bag he asked "Drinks?" Half an hour later the team was sitting at a local bar the air thick with words unspoken. Finally to ease the tension Greg chuckled. "Lou was so nervous his first day. After a quick tour, I'd sent him to change and all of a sudden I hear a yelp and a scream. He'd gotten the locker rooms mixed up and walked in on Jules changing!" And just like that the team began to recall stories of a teammate lost a year before. Time passes but the memories remain.
Box
Boxes made him highly suspicious. In his line of work an unmarked package screamed 'DANGER.' So when he walked into his apartment it took everything he had to not panic and run back to work to grab 'Babycakes.' As he stared at the plain brown package a voice called out, "Baby, that you?" He swallowed nervously and called back. "What's this, Nat?" She came in from the other room. Realizing he was frozen she went to grab it. "NO!" "It's ok Spike, its just a birthday present for you." He let out a breath. "Next time just use wrapping paper."
Run
'I ought to win boyfriend of the year for this', Sam thought. Every instinct in him screamed at him to run away, but all the muscles in his body were tense. 'Man up, Sam, you can do this. Remember, when Jules is happy then you're happy. Just pick one' Scanning the selection in front of him Sam knew which one he preferred. But this wasn't about him. She would have his ass if he made the wrong choice. "Jackpot!" 'Can't go wrong with triple chocolate fudge!' As he had every other night in the past week, he cursed midnight pregnancy cravings.
