This Story is based of the poem that i wrote ages ago called Just A Dream. I thought it would make a good short story.
Heres the poem:
my mind is hazy
and your like a dream
in the meadows picking daisies
nothing is what is seems
staring into my eyes
sweet nothings in my ear
'eyes as bright as the skies
i love you, that much is clear'
you came to my aid
you were ever so kind
but you started to fade
you were only in my mind...
On with the Story ;) ENJOY!
The sun shone bright upon the meadow. Birds were chirping as Bella laid on the damp grass, staring up into the clouds. Her heart was aching for him but he was nowhere to be found.
Watching the butterflies dance through the field wasn't enough anymore. Not even the smell of the flowers could bring her happiness. All of it paled in comparison to him.
Bella.
Even though she couldn't see him, she could still hear his voice in the wind. But what she didn't know was he could see her. Under the cover of the old willows, he waited patiently…just for her.
Bella turned her head to the side, away from him, looking at the daisy that was right in front of her face. Reaching up, she lightly picked the flower and started twisting it in her grasp. Not a single thought in her head was coherent.
She didn't hear him approaching til it was too late. Her heart picked up when she turned to find him laying right beside her. A small gasp escaped her as she stared into those endless emerald eyes.
Was it days that had past…. Maybe it was only hours, or just mere minutes? Bella didn't know neither did she care. All that mattered now was he showed. A goofy smile found its way on to her face as they continued to look into each other's eyes.
Slowly he moved forward, his lips grazing her cheek and coming to a stop near her ear. She could feel his breath on her making her shiver as she waited to hear his velvety voice. And she wasn't disappointed.
"Bella…."
Who knew one word could have such an impact?
His hands softly made their way down her arms to rest lightly upon her hips. Squeezing gently, he pulled her closer to his chest.
"I love you. Forever and always…"
Her eyes slid shut as she took a deep, needed breath. Bella's heart picked up its speed and her head spun. Gradually opening her eyes only to close them in horror, for Edward was nowhere in site along with the meadow… she was back in her room, clutching at the only thing he left behind – a small white daisy with some red ribbon tied around it
It had been moths since he left her in the woods, but never once did she blame him. For she knew what was going through his mind better than he did. She hoped that one-day, he would come to the same conclusion as her but until than, all she had to do was wait. Wait, and dream of those endless emerald eyes…
