(A/N: this one is short and it's not tipo for once, it's about shifu and tigress and I hope you like it)

Shifu was sitting on the floor of his room meditating, his mind was clear, in a trance like state and deeply focused. He could hear the pitter patter of the rain and the clapping of thunder, but even that didn't disrupt his focus.
Twitch.
Footsteps, very faint ones but footsteps none the less. They were walking in his direction yet he didn't open his eyes or come out of his sitting position. It wasn't long before he heard a light knock on his paper door.
He knew exactly who it was.
"Come in tigress." He opened his eyes when he heard her walk in.
Tigress closed her eyes bowed "you called for me master."
"Yes there is something we need to discuss, please sit." Tigress sat on her knees and looked at him as if telling him to continue.
"The reason I have called you here tigress is because I want to apologize and make amends with you." Strait to the point, he hoped she could forgive him and he would understand if she couldn't, forgiveness is a very complicated thing after all.
"Why? You've done nothing wrong." Tigress for one was surprised and a bit shocked, she never expected this from him, she thought the past was already behind them.
"Oh but I have, will you allow me to explain?" He wanted to make sure she was ready to hear this."
Tigress nodded and he began "I know that the past cannot be changed tigress, but how I acted towards you when you were a cub was unacceptable. If I'm going to be completely honest with you I did treat you the way I did because of my past with...tai lung. He...was my son and I loved him..." "Master-" Tigress tried to stop him but he continued. "when he turned his back on us it...hurt me and so when I adopted you I was afraid that if I loved you as much if not more than I did tai lung then some day you would come to hate me and betray us as well." He sighed and took a deep breath "I didn't want to risk it and end up being broken all over again. In the end nothing was your fault tigress, I am genuinely and truly sorry. I don't expect you to forgive me for what I've done but I would like to start over with you as my daughter if you'd allow it." He finished
Tigress looked down in thought, she was feeling pretty overwhelmed because this was a lot to take in. To hear this from shifu, now especially was surprising. She honestly didn't know what to think.
Shifu openly stared at her. He saw her deep in thought and waited patiently for her response. Tigress looked up at him after a moment and slowly opened her mouth. Her next words made shifu both shocked and happy "I already forgave you a long time ago and there's no need to start over, sure I hated the way you treated me but in a way I understood and not once did I resent you or hold anything against you because of it...father..." Shifu was relived, tigress had forgiven him and he was thankful to any God out there who heard his plea.
The two masters embraced although it was a little awkward, the pouring rain and loud thunder ignored as the two separated and called it a night. Shifu was thankful for this second chance, he believed that with time he could love her as a parent if not more than he did tai lung and even if he didn't raise her with love and affection, she still came out right. He believed that if she were someone else, at any given moment she could have submerged herself in the darkness and given into the hatred but she didn't and he was proud of her because of that. Times were changing in the jade palace this shifu knew and as he went to sleep that night, he welcomed the peaceful dreams that awaited him.
(A/N: yes I am one of those people who think and agree that tai lung and tigress are related, because technically they are long lost adoptive siblings right? Anyway I hope you liked it)
