A/NSo I'm not going to say much apart from that i will mostly be doing oneshots and short stories from now on. Now i'll let you read.
I do not own anything of JK Rowling's
It was over. Their lives before. They were gone, their bodies here but their minds a wander.
She was empty. What was once filled with dreams of books and knowledge and love was now an empty room. A library with no books. That was her. She was a husk, surrounded by cocoons. Each one slowly unfurling to reveal a recovering hero, and her appearing strong to everyone around and yet so broken and alone. A name on the tip of her tongue, once hers now forgotten to her.
Her life hung in spider webs, so frail and thin, glistening in the morning dew like every other yet her web was different. It had no spider. No one to weave a new life. Her web would grow old and drift with the wind. Her web was empty.
Everything she had once loved was gone. The innocence of her friends, the sweet morning light, now grey in her eyes, and the ambition.
Maybe that's what happens to a person. when they have seen war, when they have lived it. Left to live out your memories in your own mind, staring out of the clouded glass that was once so clear, only the faintest orange seeping in through the cracks. As your friends, family, watch you waste away.
Day after day you see them look upon your graven face and plead, cry for a way out, a silent promise of help that they are forced to break. they look upon you with pity and worry and hope. The hope that somewhere in you there is a glimmer of who you used to be, that strong, beautiful woman, now a scared, lonely girl.
Moving backwards through time, you are forced to relive every moment over and over and you may wish for someone to obliviate your memories but truly, you would never let them go. They remind you.
Because without those memories there really is nothing left of that girl, nothing of the book-loving, funny, laughing girl that once was.
Maybe that's what happens to a person, when they have seen war, lived it. They become a shell.
They become empty.
