Author's notes: Not much to say about this one. Just a Twoleg turned Warrior fanfic. Enjoy!
Oh, and I do not own warriors.
A solitary mottled gray tom glanced around a beautiful night forest, filled to the brim with with the scent of prey. For him, this was one of the best parts of his job, though tonight he was a bit filled with anxiety, as it would be the first meeting with Starclan after Bramblestar's new addition to the warrior code. He soon saw a familiar dark brown tom, one he knew and respected very well. "Barkface!" He called and rushed over, eager to speak with his mentor.
The tom, Barkface, chuckled to himself, before regaining his composure. "It is good to see you again
to." He meowed warmly, greeting the younger cat with open paws.
Kestrelflight, flicked his tail happily, before setting down. "May I ask you something?" He asked definitively.
"Sure, what would you like to know?"
Kestrelflight sighed, then looked his mentor in the eye. "Do you think that Bramblestar was right to make that addition to the warrior code?" He asked, though his voice showed neither approval or disapproval.
Barkface nodded, it was only natural his apprentice might wonder if it was a good idea or not. "Bramblestar's rule will definitely help with keeping the clans intact, but only time will tell how well it will work," He replied after a pause.
Kestrelflight swallowed his disappointment, he had hoped that Barkface would be able to give him a definite answer to his problem. However, before he could respond, Barkface began to speak again.
"I have a prophecy I must share with you, now," He meowed, looking serious. Kesterlflight nodded, his interest fully train on what Barkface had to say.
"The leader of the wind shall be rescued by the humble loner. When he is rescued, granting the request shall provide the wind with a blessing, though it's request shall not be hard," The older cat had meowed.
Kestrelflight tipped his head. "Are you saying that Onestar is going to be rescued by a loner? And what kind of blessing are we talking about?" He questioned.
Barkface shrugged. "We can not see everything in the future. Yes, the clan leader may be rescued by a loner, but other than that, we cannot tell you." He saw his apprentice's frustration about the lack of information and sighed. "I know it is frustrating, but this is all I can tell you."
Kestrelflight bowed his head, then felt himself wake up. The other medicine cats also woke up soon after and they soon took off back toward their respective clans. "It is good to share with Starclan," Mothwing admitted on the way back. After the dark forest battle, Mothwing had revealed her new-found belief in he ancestors, and the reason why she had doubted them before that time. Although the Great battle and the floods afterwords had caused much grief and suffering, I believe that they have ended up teaching us a good deal. He reflected to himself.
Once he reached the camp, Kestrelflight padded up to Onestar, who was sitting by himself near his den, watching the stars. He turned his head toward the medicine cat as he bounded up. "You bring news?" He asked.
Kestreflight nodded. "A prophecy, to be more precise," He admitted. "The leader of the wind shall be rescued by the humble loner. When he is rescued, granting the request shall provide the wind with a blessing, though it's request will not be hard." However, Kestrelflight's voice trailed off as Onestar glared at him, and then the stars in the sky. "How dare you Starclan!" He screeched loudly, waking everybody up. "Telling me that I will be rescued by a Loner, what nonsense is this?" He demanded, then rushed out of the camp.
The young medicine cat was left with curious eyes trained on where the leader had left, then on him. "I'm sorry," He muttered. "I only told him what Starclan had told me," He added, his voice filled with despair before heading toward the den.
