This is a free verse poem about losing touch with someone you once shared so much with. It was written because of a prompt given by an English teacher. Prompt: To write a memory, good or bad, as a journal entry. Then transform the entry into a free verse poem. Let me know if you want Sharp to write some more poetry for us. Enjoy this beautiful poem and leave your thoughts about it!
Real Nights and Fake Days by Sharp
Every night I lie in bed,
The world spins around me.
Memories of you sneak out my eyes
And tumble down my cheeks.
My cries are muffled by only my pillow,
The air is becoming too thick to breath.
I wipe my eyes and blow my nose,
And fall into the blackened depth.
When I wake in the morning,
I wash my face,
And fake a smile that stays on my lips,
All day long.
