It was just another normal day at the host club. Tamaki was being his usual overly dramatic self, the twins were playing their act and causing trouble, Honey was eating cake while Mori just sat there with him, Kyoya was typing who knows what on his laptop, and Haruhi was being her normal refreshing self. It has been two months since the whole festival fiasco, and since then Haruhi and Tamaki have started dating. They have been very happy everyday, but today something was off, and Haruhi could feel it. Her gaze instantly went to Tamaki and found that it was coming from him.

He was acting the same as usual, but there was something in his eyes that just didn't seem right.

"Tamaki? Are you alright?" She asked him with a concerned look on her face.

"I'm fine Haruhi. What on Earth would make you think otherwise?" He said with a forced smile on his face. When he said this, Haruhi squinted her eyes and grabbed his hand.

"Come with me." She said and started pulling him to the back room. "Okay, now what's going on?" Tamaki just looked shocked for a second and then looked down at the floor.

"My mother has become gravely ill. And they don't know how much longer she'll last." He said as he began to cry. Haruhi looked at him shocked and then shocked turned into pity.

"I am so sorry." Haruhi said as she raised his head and wiped away his tears. He just looked at her through the tears in his eyes. She then pulled him into a hug and he just cried on her shoulder.

"I leave for France tonight. I won't be able to come back for a while." Tamaki said once he calmed down.

"How long is a while?"

He looked down at the floor again and mumbled just enough so that she almost missed it. "One to three years."

"What?!"

"That's what the doctors say is how much longer she supposedly has. So I have to spend the remaining time she has left with her."

Haruhi just looked down in thought. "Okay." Tamaki looked at her in shock. "But you have to promise me that you will come back for me and that you won't forget me."

He gave her a small smile and pulled her into a hug. "I promise." After their long embrace Tamaki stared at her and leaned in. "And here's the proof." He said as he kissed her. It was their first kiss together and Haruhi loved it. That night Tamaki left for France.

2 years later

It was the day of Haruhi's high school graduation. She had managed to keep her grades up and keep the scholarship she had deserved. The after party was huge. The Twins and Haruhi had finally graduated! The people who had attended the ceremony for them consisted of Kyoya, Mori and Honey, and Ranka.

"Tonight was awesome guys, but there is still something, or someone missing." Claimed the twins.

"Who?" Asked a curious Haruhi. The Twins stepped aside and behind them was none other than Tamaki. Haruhi's eyes widened and filled with tears as she ran and launched herself into his arms.

"I told you I wouldn't forget you." He whispered.

"I missed you! I missed you so much!" Cried Haruhi

"I missed you too." He said as he held her close. "Haruhi." He said as he pulled back. "I love you."

She smiled really big as the tears flowed down her face. "I love you too."

"Then… will you marry me?"

"Yes!" She said as she smashed their lips together. All the happiness of being together again poured into this sweet kiss, and nobody dared interrupt them. They then lived happily together for the rest of their lives.
