Soul's walk home was a thought filled one. Why did Maka want to well, kiss him? He steered clear from the obvious. It would ruin their partner ship, and their friendship if they did get too close. He shrugged it off.
Meanwhile...
Back at the apartment Maka was trying to read one of her many boring books, but found herself continually checking the clock. She looked toward the door, clock, and then book, repeat. "Where is Soul?" She spoke to herself. The clock read, 1:23 am. She stared at the door. She started crying. She couldn't help it, she was worried. She had already known he would've told her if he was going somewhere or at in the least left a note.
Soul had gotten to the apartment, not realizing how late it was, he snuck in quietly, expecting Maka to be asleep. But she wasn't, she was crying. He walked over to her and tapped her shoulder.
"Soul?" She said with her eyes still watery, still unable to look up at him, but she somehow knew it was him.
"Why are you crying? Somebody die?" He said that last part with that sexy evil smirk he always uses.
She laughed picturing it. Then she remembered that she was upset and it turned into a shred of anger.
"Soul! Where have you been?! I was worried!"
Soul bit his tongue, he knew he couldn't and wouldn't tell her. It would just make her angrier. So he half lied through his teeth with the first thing that came to his mind.
"Well, i got knocked out by some thugs and then i ran into Carmen on the way home..." he realized what he was walking into, he did like Maka, but... he then couldn't remember why that was bad.
"Oh, well what were you doing with Carmen?" That they might have hooked up.
"Nothing we just talked. About you." He said softy.
"What'd you say?"
"Nothing really, she said, you liked me."
He looked down, he knew that she was probably blushing.
She held back the instinct to run away, and said, "what did you say?"
He looked at her. "Actualy I didn't say anything. She had somewhere to go."
"Okay so what do you say?"
Insted of giving her a response, he kissed her. When he felt her kiss back he knew everything was all right.
I know that was short but i have never actualy had a first kiss but when i do i might come back to this.
