Okay so I haven't written anything for these two lovebirds, Harry/Hermione and they deserve love even if Harmony fans can be very disappointing sometimes. This is written for the OTP Boot Camp and uses the prompt 'Patience'.
Sometimes Harry felt as if Hermione was too patient with him not that this wasn't a good thing considering the moment right now as he stared at his parents' graves. He had never before been to this place and now looking at the graves of James and Lily Potter made his heart clench. He didn't know how to respond. Tears cascaded down his cheeks as he continuously tried to wipe them away. They were here on a mission after all.
"Harry," Hermione spoke softly and Harry looked up to try and distract himself from his thoughts but what she did only tore down his barriers even more. She wrapped her arms around him and held onto him. Harry choked out a laugh. Hermione really was the brightest witch of her age, having this much patience and knowing it was okay to break down sometimes.
"Hermione I…" Harry began but Hermione cut him off.
"Oh just cry it out, Harry," Hermione said softly. "It's okay to cry." Somehow her soft, soothing voice and the comfort of her arms brought down any barriers he had been holding up since the beginning. It hurt. It hurt to feel that he had no one right now, no family, no anything. He was alone in this darkest hour. But yet, as he slowly began to cry in Hermione's embrace, he felt even in this loneliness, he wasn't completely alone. She was here with him in this moment of weakness and she always would be.
