He paced his cell the walls where awkwardly close making him stutter step, this only increased his frustration. He had done nothing wrong, this time he really hadn't. Fargo just had a stick up his ass, was that really his problem?
Thoughts of how good it would feel to test his new prototype rock crusher on Fargo's head distracted him, cracking his foot on the cot that had been so handily screwed into the ground, made him curse.
"Carter" he bellowed, "When do I get to go home? You do don't think this is really all I had planed for my whole day?"
He heard a chuckle from the other room; clearly Carter was in no rush to let him out, not shocking. This had become a bit of a reoccurring theme, he would get blamed for whatever had happened and then Lupo would throw him in jail, regardless of if there had been any actual evidence or not.
It was her, she just had to play this card it was low, they both new it but she did it any way.
Sitting down he thought back over the last few weeks, she had been different.
But she had always been different.
The click of heals made him look up.
Lupo stood there holding a bunch of forms "you have to fill these out, before we can let you leave"
"That's all you have to say? I have been in here for fucking hours," he yelled back at her.
He could see her flinch; a small part of him felt badly, but it had grown smaller over time.
She opened her mouth to say something, but he cut her off "You think I have time for this? I have deadlines, but you wouldn't know anything about that, as you're so chummy with the Head of GD now. BFF forever? Did he give you a friendship necklace, I bet he did" his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Getting to his feet he closed the distance between them, his head coming to a rest on the bars.
Jo took a step back, she had never seen Zane this upset about anything " Zane its just paper work, we can have you out in a few".
"That's just it though isn't it, just paper work to you but, I'm the one in here all the time! Every time you get irritated or because its Wednesday. You have to stop this." His voice trailing off
"Stop what?" she stuttered, her hand now shaking papers now barley in her hand.
He looked up at her "all of this" he swept his arms out, sitting down deflated.
Stealing herself away preparing for his next words.
He looked up her "You left me Jo".
His statement crushed her, papers fluttering to the floor; she rushed out of the room.
She broke into a run as she passed Carter "let him out".
