Lucas Scott and Peyton Sawyer lay in a quiet sleep in Peyton's apartment. Outside, the rain poured down hard on the stormy Tree Hill night. However, all was peaceful. That is, until this:
The thunder cracked loudly, shaking the whole house. The door to the bedroom burst open, causing Lucas and Peyton to sit up. Right away, they saw the cause of the open door.
James Lucas Scott, Lucas's nephew, stood at the base of the bed. The child of only two and a half stared at his uncle and his uncle's girlfriend, "J scawed." The boy's lip popped out and he began to cry.
Lucas pushed the covers off and hurried up to the child, holding him tightly, "Buddy, it's okay. It's just a storm."
"Scawy," James pouted, rubbing his eyes.
"Aww," Lucas chuckled, "Do you wanna sleep in your uncle Luke and aunt Peyton's bed?" James nodded. Lucas picked up the boy and brought him over by the bed.
Peyton sat up as Lucas set James down in between them, "It's okay, James. Your uncle Lucas and I are right here. We'd never let anything happen to you, okay?" Little James nodded, sniffling. They all lay down and covered up.
Another loud crack of thunder shook the house and James cringed. He immediately latched onto Lucas, holding onto his uncle for dear life, "It's okay buddy." Peyton rolled over and hugged both of them and soon all three were asleep.
