Prologue
Santana Lopez helplessly juggled the many bags in her hands. Quinn Fabray, on the other hand, had practice with handling various shopping bags, leaving her in perfect condition. And finally, Brittany Pierce decided to be original, putting bags inside bags inside bags. All three of them were among many who were also Christmas shopping in the famous New York City. Unlike the year before at Nationals, now the three were in the city on their own terms. For once, Santana and Brittany felt doubly grateful to be friends with Quinn again, seeing as this was her family vacation in which she was given the option to bring a couple of friends. So she did.
Next stop, a coffee break. And Santana was overly eager to get her fair dose of caffeinated coffee at this point. But this day, Santana, along with Brittany and Quinn, learned that eagerness wasn't always good. Brittany and Quinn paused at the curb, while Santana strutted on out. Quinn and Brittany did not approve of her quickness, but Santana clearly stated she didn't need anyone's approval and it was her life.
"Patience," Brittany teased, as Santana attempted to rush across the busy street. But by then, it had gone from funny to frightening. Neither Brittany or Quinn wanted to lose their best friend, and Brittany definitely didn't want to lose her soulmate. They weren't technically dating yet, as Santana explained she wasn't "ready" although it'd been almost a year. Brittany would wait. Forever, if she had to. But in the end, Brittany found herself waiting until the day she died. Not because of Santana's sensitivity, but because of Santana's death.
That day, Santana refused to listen to her friend, therefore, she was left dead. Ran over. Finito. Forever. Leaving Brittany to wait for eternity. But who would've guessed that Santana Lopez, school's main bitch and devil, would be so angelic?
Yeah, it's short, but it's a prologue, what did you expect? :-)
