This is my first Barney Miller fanfic, and this is AU where Barney lets Wojo go talk to Chano about the shooting.

Wojo watched as his best friend stormed out of the 12th precinct, he felt bad for his friend, who feels so gulity for killing 2 bank robbers ealier. So he walks over to his boss caption Barney Miller, who is like his father figure. "Hey Barn, uh exuse me." Wojo says as Barney turned away from Harris, Wojo's other best friend. "I Wanna take a couple of hours to take off?" Wojo asked.

"What for?" Barney asked.

"Oh uh I just uh…I got uh things—" Wojo started.

"Leave him alone." Barney told him.

Wojo looks up at his boss.

"Let him take care of it by himself." Barney added.

Wojo lets out a sigh.

"Come on Barney, please." Wojo begged. "I just…wanna check on him that's all."

Barney let's out a sigh.

"Fine, go ahead Woj." Barney said giving up.

"Thanks Barn." Wojo smiled as he walked over to the coat rack grabbing his coat and leaving the precinct.

Once Wojo arrived at Chano's apartment, he knocks on the door.

"Please go away!" He heard Chano yelled.

"It's Wojo!" Wojo called out.

Then he saw the door open and saw Chano.

"Hey Chano, mind if I come in?" Wojo asked walking inside.

"Sure man." Chano smiled as he shuts the door. "So what's on ya mind buddy?"

"Well I just wanna um…uh, check up on ya." Wojo repiled.

"Oh." Chano answers. "Oh, well don't worry about it. I'm great!"

Chano turned away from Wojo, so he won't see the tears forming in his eyes.

"You sure?" Wojo asked.

"Yes Woj, I'm fine." Chano tells him.

"No you're not." Wojo repiled. "I know whenever my best friends is upset and you are not fine Chano."

"I SAID I'M FINE!" Chano snapped while turning around, leaving Wojo dumbfounded and he let out a sigh to calm down. "Wojo, I-I'm sorry…I shouldn't have snapped at ya like that."

"It's uh…it's ok Chano." Wojo said nodding his head.

"It's ok if I can be alone for a while?" Chano asked him.

"Sure!" Wojo says. "But if you need to talk, just give me a call."

"I will Wojo, thanks for coming over man." Chano said.

"No problem." Wojo smiled as he left the apartment.

Then Chano lets out a big sigh and shuts the door.

"I can't forget what I've done." Chano says quietly.

Then Chano went in his room and slammed the door angry.
