They were the last line of defense standing between the pre-kishins and the academy. Maka guarded the front steps, her anti-madness wavelength was meant to purify any souls that slipped through the rest of Spartoi's defences.
Soul's black blood was a weakness that could have been exploited If not for maka pulling him back just as quickly as he fell. They were unstoppable with that wavelength.
So how do you beat the best weapon, Meister team since Azura pre-madness. Well I suppose the answer lies within the question its self. Azura is the one that fell to madness not his weapon.
The key is to target the meister. But even so you would have to get past the wavelength to get close enough. How do you get past an anti-madness wavelength?
By being sane.
One young witch bribed later and you have a plan. Under the cloak if a soul protect the wichling is headed up the stairs and straight for the sanctuary death has made for the towns folk.
Maka sees the little girl run up and doesn't hesitate to open the doors for her. Her humanity is ultimately her down fall. A slie slip if a hand later and an entire syringe of crona's blood is coursing through her veins.
And like all mighty hero's they come crashing down. The blood consumes her throwing her deep into insanity soul fallowing immediately behind her. There is no last minute help to save the day. They are already too far gone.
The others can feel it in the air. You can see it in the way she holds herself now. The way his blade curls in tighter the red color consuming the grey until the only pattern is the swirling crimson and black.
The cruel irony is that they are completely unstoppable now, but the way their eyes ravish each other once he quickly transforms back tells you that in fact being the greatest weapon and Meister team wasn't their deepest desire.
They won't be picking fights or really doing much but each other for a while and they no longer stand in your way.
Its almost laughable how easy it was to destroy all of deaths defenses.
It like he's rolling out the red carpet and guiding you into his vault. The greatest collection of power in the world will soon be in your possession all because death was too afraid to use Eibon's magic tools.
He was a coward and you are going to enjoy the look on his face when he watches everything he has grown attached to in the last few centurys burn.
It just goes to show you that to get what you really want out of the world you have to be ruthless. You can't let morals get in your way.
Feelings make you weak. Madness… well madness gives you power. And after all the spider has always craved power.
This was really fun to write. I think I'll do a series on the different teams decent into madness. I know this was short but if feels like to beginning of something really great.
