This is a collection of short scenes revolving around various characters as they attempt to cope with the loss of Sirius Black. So far I have Remus Lupin's and Harry's, and I hope to add others at some point.
This is written post OotP and with total disregard to HBP
Dead Flowers
Remus Lupin gazed out the window at the almost full moon, and was instantly reminded of his school days, and all the things his friends had done to help him through those times of torture. It was sad to think that he was the last of the Marauders left. (One couldn't count Peter as still existing, not after what he'd become.) His had drifted to his quill and, preoccupied, he began to write.
Dead flowers,
Wilted blooms.
Life fades,
But not my love for you.
So close,
And yet so far away from me.
We came so far,
And then we lost it all.
One moment there,
Then gone.
Still listening for your voice,
Or footsteps on the stair.
Cloud bursts,
Foggy days.
The tears are gone,
They've bled away.
Wishes, hopes,
And prayers.
Fruitless dreams,
Of times we'll never get again to share.
Dead flowers,
Wilted blooms.
Life fades,
But never my love for you.
He looked down at his parchment, partially surprised by what was there. He didn't normally do poetry but under the circumstances, it seemed to fit.
He couldn't help but think about how Sirius would have laughed to see such a thing, 'What! Who would write poetry about me," but how he would also be secretly touched, and rather embarrassed, by the sentiment. It was for that reason that he carefully folded the parchment, and tucked it under the cover of one of his books.
Just something I want to point out about the whole 'love' thing in the poem. They were as good as brothers, and I just thought it fit better with Remus than with Harry.
